The Nakamura numbers for computable simple games
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Nakamura number of a simple game plays a critical role in preference aggregation (or multi-criterion ranking): the number of alternatives that the players can always deal with rationally is less than this number. We comprehensively study the restrictions that various properties for a simple game impose on its Nakamura number. We find that a computable game has a finite Nakamura number greater than three only if it is proper, nonstrong, and nonweak, regardless of whether it is monotonic or whether it has a finite carrier. The lack of strongness often results in alternatives that cannot be strictly ranked. Journal of Economic Literature Classifications: C71, C69, D71.

Computability of simple games: A characterization and application to the core
The class of algorithmically computable simple games (i) includes the class of games that have finite carriers and (ii) is included in the class of games that have finite winning coalitions. This paper characterizes computable games, strengthens the earlier result that computable games violate anonymity, and gives examples showing that the above inclusions are strict. It also extends Nakamura’s...
متن کاملNonanonymity and sensitivity of computable simple games
This paper investigates algorithmic computability of simple games (voting games). It shows that (i) games with a finite carrier are computable, (ii) computable games have both finite winning coalitions and cofinite losing coalitions, and (iii) computable games violate any conceivable notion of anonymity, including finite anonymity and measurebased anonymity. The paper argues that computable gam...
متن کاملAn interval-valued programming approach to matrix games with payoffs of triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers
The purpose of this paper is to develop a methodology for solving a new type of matrix games in which payoffs are expressed with triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs). In this methodology, the concept of solutions for matrix games with payoffs of TIFNs is introduced. A pair of auxiliary intuitionistic fuzzy programming models for players are established to determine optimal strategies...
متن کاملThe Role of Games in Teaching English Numbers to Iranian EFL Learners at the Elementary Level
English vocabulary, especially at the elementary stage of language learning process, is easily forgotten. Language games seem to be a good strategy for learning a foreign language. This study aimed to find a way to help elementary EFL learners fix the new English numbers in their minds. First, the general test of English numbers as a pretest was administered to 60 participants. They were requir...
